¶ How To Win Against Andrew Garbarino
Andrew Garbarino wants you to think he’s a moderate, but in reality he stands side by side with the Trump administration’s extremist agenda. When the GOP’s budget reconciliation package outlined substantial cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP, Garbarino signed a letter advocating against such cuts. Garbarino even said he wouldn’t support legislation touching Medicaid. Then when it came time to vote for the GOP budget, Garbarino did not cast his ballot. Not because he didn’t support $500 billion in cuts to Medicaid; Garbarino fell asleep as the vote was happening. But when he was asked about it, Garbarino said he was moments away from voting yes. When the vote came back from the Senate months later, Garbarino made sure to cast his yes vote.
In addition to Trump’s budget, Garbarino stood with the administration as Trump’s tariffs hurt small businesses across the state of New York. While Garbarino did not comment on the topic often, he voted to protect Trump’s tariffs six times. He didn’t stop there. He only voted to release the Epstein files after Trump said it was ok to do so.
¶ GARBARINO VOTED TO CUT MEDICAID AFTER HE CLAIMED HE COULDN’T SUPPORT A REPUBLICAN BUDGET THAT INCLUDED CUTS TO MEDICAID
- Garbarino knew the Big, Beautiful Bill would cut Medicaid and even went as far as to sign a letter which claimed he could not support a budget that cut Medicaid for vulnerable populations. He also said he would tank any bill that made cuts to Medicaid.
- Garbarino even confirmed what we all know when he said, “I think any time it looks like we’re actually hurting people, that’s gonna piss off the American population. And if you piss them off, they’re probably not going to vote for you.”
- Months later Garbarino fell asleep during the vote on the republican budget, but indicated he was moments away from voting to pass the budget. When it came time to vote on the budget again, he gave his yes vote.
¶ GARBARINO VOTED FOR MASSIVE CUTS TO MEDICARE
- Garbarino voted for a bill that the Congressional Budget Office estimated would trigger nearly $500 billion in cuts to Medicare, absent future congressional action. He also voted against allowing Medicare to negotiate the price of prescription drugs.
¶ GARBARINO VOTED TO CUT FOOD ASSISTANCE AND CLAIMED HE WAS ACTUALLY PROTECTING IT
- Garbarino voted for a bill that made the largest SNAP cut in history. More than 28,000 New Yorkers in his district relied on SNAP to be able to afford groceries.
¶ GARBARINO WAS THE DECIDING VOTE TO PROTECT TRUMP’S TARIFFS
- Garbarino voted six times to protect Trump’s tariffs, including in April 2025 when he was the deciding vote to protect them, dooming New York families who relied on him to a trade war and rising prices. Tariffs are contributing to higher food prices and pain for business owners.
¶ GARBARINO FELL IN LINE WITH AN ANTI-CHOICE AGENDA
- Garbarino voted for legislation which would allocate TANF funding to crisis pregnancy centers who spread an anti-choice agenda.
- During his time as an assemblyman, Garbarino didn’t support legislation which would require insurance coverage for FDA approved contraceptives. He voted against this legislation not once, not twice, but three times.
¶ GARBARINO PROMISED TO FULLY RESTORE THE SALT DEDUCTION, BUT CAME UP SHORT
- Garbarino promised to fully restore the SALT deduction. In the end, he came up short with only a $40,000 temporary deduction.
¶ IT TOOK GARBARINO 11 MONTHS TO VOTE TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES, ONLY AFTER TRUMP SIGNALED TO HOUSE REPUBLICANS HE APPROVED
- In November 2025, after 11 months, Garbarino finally voted to release the Epstein files, but only after Donald Trump gave House Republicans permission to do so. Previously, Garbarino had cast the deciding vote against releasing the Epstein files, protecting the accused pedophiles named within them.
